I'm a digital artist born and living in Australia. I'm a former cartoonist of American gaming site, GameRevolution.com where I drew and co-wrote weekly comics, "GR Strips" from the beginning of 2014 to the end of 2016.
Since my resignation from GameRevolution, I haven't drawn a lot, but I am trying to make that change and get back into drawing. It was once a passion of mine that I really don't want to lose. I've come to ArtStation because there are so many brilliant artists here that might be able to further inspire me and help me learn to improve. I'm a former user of DeviantART, which to be honest with you, has just become... a terrible community and awful place to be.
Full time, I'm a media developer for local government. Being in that job for over seven years, I specialize in video editing, motion graphics and animation, photography and graphic design, helping our clients to develop video-based training resources, promotional material as well as branding and identity. I've also done some freelance animation projects for local organisation "NT DBMAS" (Northern Territory Dementia Behaviour Advisory Services).
I'm a university graduate, with two Bachelor degrees, including a Bachelor's in Visual Arts and a Bachelor's in Creative Arts and Industries: New Media Design. Recently, I have received a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
In my personal life, I'm a massive gamer and I try to keep active at the gym with weight lifting and judo, which I have been practicing for just over ten years. I have a partner and we've been together for over four years, she is a traditional-based artist.
The Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service (DBMAS) is a national, free service that is funded by the Australian Federal Government. It is operated and administered by Dementia Support Australia (DSA). NT DBMAS is the Northern Territory branch.
Working with NT DBMAS, I helped to develop two short, under five minute animated videos that is aimed at those who care for loved ones with dementia. The videos were created to be educational, engaging resources to help carers with advice and tips on caring for their loved ones.
The entire process included script writing, audio recording/editing, sketching, digital illustration, animation, video editing and final upload.
GameRevolution is one of the world's oldest video game websites, established in 1999 and continuing to operate today.
I would work with the staff of GameRevolution via e-mail correspondence to produce weekly "GR Strips" comics, cartoons poking fun at at-the-time relevant news in the gaming and technology industries.
Co-writing the strips with the staff and then eventually my brother, each strip would be drawn in an initial sketch stage, before being constructed into a high resolution comic, to be uploaded on schedule every Friday.
Unfortunately, due to the recent restructure of the site, all 135 comic strips no longer exist on GameRevolution as they failed to migrate over to the new system, as did with many previous archived articles.
